In Madhya Pradesh, the powers of giving technical approval to the assistant engineer and executive engineer of municipality and city council have been increased to almost double. With this amendment, it will be easier to get development works done at the level of Nagar Palika Parishad/Nagar Parishad. People’s representatives had requested Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan to increase the powers of technical approval. After which this decision has been taken.
The assistant engineers of Nagar Palika Parishad and Nagar Parishad have been empowered to give technical approval from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 2 lakh for new works and from Rs 50 thousand to Rs 1 lakh for repair works. Executive Engineer has been empowered to give technical approval for new works from Rs 2 crore to Rs 3 crore and for repair works from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 10 lakh.
