CG NEWS: Church theft revealed, police arrested two accused from UP, one still absconding

Hakimuddin Nasir, Mahasamund. On June 18, in the Bagbahra police station area, a robbery of Rs 1.25 lakh took place in broad daylight in a Catholic church at gunpoint by taking a father hostage. Disclosing which the police arrested two of the three accused. While one accused is still absconding.

Police has seized 50 thousand cash, a desi katta, a mobile, a scooty from the accused. The Superintendent of Police told in the press conference that when the investigation was started on the basis of CCTV footage, it was found that these people belong to Khariar Road, Odisha. After that the police went to Khariar Road and came to know that all these three are residents of Baghpat and Meerut UP.

A police team went to Baghpat and arrested two accused advocate Ahmed, Mohd. Abid. During interrogation of the police, the accused told that after the robbery, they went to Khariar Road and looted Rs 40,000, 40,000 and 45,000 to all three They divided among themselves and went to their respective homes. The arrested accused are habitual criminals and cases have been registered against them in UP under Arms Act including theft. The police is interrogating them further. Police is taking action against these accused under sections 342, 397, 450 Bhadvi and 25, 27 Arms Act.
