रायपुर. इन दिनों आंख के इन्फेक्शन से काफी लोग जूझ रहे हैं. जिसको लेकर वरिष्ठ नेत्र विशेषज्ञ डॉ दिनेश मिश्र ने कहा, कंजंक्टीवाइटिस आँख का आना या नेत्र ''शोथ आँखों'' का एक आम संक्रमण है. कंजंक्टीवाइटिस के शिकार लोग साल भर होते रहते हैं. कभी-कभी यह बरसात में काफी तीव्रता से एक बड़े क्षेत्र की जनसंख्या को प्रभावित करती है, यह एक छुतहा इंफेक्शन (संक्रमण) है और निकट सम्पर्ग के कारण एक से दूसरे व्यक्ति में फैलता रहता है.जैसा की वर्तमान में हो रहा है.देश के कई हिस्सों से कंजंक्टिवाइटिस के सामूहिक रूप से फैलने के समाचार मिल रहे हैं.Dr. Dinesh Mishra said, there is a mucous membrane called conjunctivitis in the eyes, which surrounds the eyeball except the inner parts of the eyelids and the cornea in the eyeball. The infection that occurs in this membrane itself is called conjunctivitis. In this, the conjunctiva starts appearing pink, red in color, hence it is also called pink eye, red eye, conjunctiva.
The severity and symptoms of conjunctivitis depend on the virulence of the infecting pathogen.
Conjunctivitis mainly occurs due to infection, allergy and injury. Conjunctivitis caused by infection can be caused by either bacterial or viral infection. These germs grow rapidly in favorable weather, reach the conjunctiva due to close contact from one person to another and start increasing in number, due to which the symptoms start appearing.
Patients complain of redness of the eyes, swelling of the eyelids, mild headache, watery eyes, white discharge from the eyes, discharge, sticking of the eyelids, etc. due to conjunctivitis. Conjunctivitis caused by infection can occur with or after common cold, fever, cough. In conjunctivitis caused by allergies, the main reason is allergy to medicines from pollen grains. In this, patients complain of swelling, redness, itching, watering, burning sensation in the eyes. Conjunctivitis also occurs due to foreign particles entering the eyes, injury, due to which redness of the eyes, watery eyes, pain are common symptoms.
Dr. Dinesh Mishra said that there are some misconceptions about the spread of conjunctivitis, as earlier it was believed that it can be caused by looking into the patient’s eyes, while the reality is not. In case of conjunctivitis, if there is redness, pain, blurred vision in the eyes, contact an eye specialist.
