Laxmikant Basod, Balod. A shocking case has come to the fore from the district. Due to incessant rains, the wall of the house and the kutcha roof above it collapsed and the husband and wife who were sleeping in the house died by being buried in it. The whole matter pertains to village Sirpur of Gram Panchayat Asra of Dondilohara block.
According to the information received, the deceased Santram Yadav aged 55 years lived in the house with his wife Kunti Bai aged 50 years. The rest of his family lives in another house. No one even heard the sound of the wall falling during the rain and the husband and wife remained buried under the wall throughout the night. The villagers came to know about the incident in the morning.
Deepak Yadav, the son of the deceased told that it was raining continuously for two to three years. After having dinner, I went to the pucca house adjacent to the kutcha house at night. Both my parents slept in a kutcha house. Due to heavy rains, it was not known that the wall of the house had collapsed. In the morning we came to know that our parents were buried under the debris of the wall, by then it was too late.
Deepak Yadav, the son of the deceased told, I was in another house on the night of the incident. My elder brother works outside, because there was no land in our house, so he runs the family by doing daily wages. Now we have become orphans due to the departure of the chief.
As soon as the information about the incident was received, the team of Deori Police Station and Revenue Department reached the spot. While conducting the investigation, the police handed over the dead bodies of both of them to their relatives after the PM. At the same time, the administration has started the process of getting proper compensation from the government.
SDM Pratima Thackeray Jha told that the compensation case for both the deceased has been prepared under the revenue clause 6/4, the case has been prepared according to the amount of four lakhs per deceased, the families will get compensation soon.
