CM Baghel will be involved in ‘Bastar Goncha Mahaparv 2023’, being organized for 616 years

Raipur. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel will attend the ‘Bastar Goncha Mahaparv 2023’ organized on June 25 at Sirhasar Bhawan in Jagdalpur, the divisional headquarters of Bastar district. It is worth mentioning that 360 Ghar Aranyak Brahmin Samaj has been organizing Bastar Goncha Mahaparv every year continuously for 616 years, following the princely tradition. This year also this great festival is being organized from 04 June to 28 June 2023. Chief Minister Baghel will participate in this great festival on the auspicious occasion of Chhappan Bhog of Lord Shri Shri Jagannath ji.

This year Bastar Goncha Mahaparva 2023 started on June 04 with Devasnan Purnima (Chandan Jatra) Puja Vidhan. With the end of Ansar period to Lord Jagannath, on June 19, after the Netrotsav Puja Vidhan, on June 20, with the roar of the traditional Bastar cannon (tupki), along with the Srigoncha Rathayatra Puja Vidhan, the 22 idols of Lord Shri Jagannath, Mata Subhadra and Swami are carried out in three chariots. But after circumambulating the chariot, he was seated in Janakpuri (Gunicha Mandap), where various religious and cultural rituals (programs) are being performed by the society.

During Goncha Mahaparva, every day at 7.30 pm, after Mahaarti of God, Bhajan-Kirtan as well as cultural programs are being organized, in which Bhajan Sandhya is being presented by local and national level artists. In order to give Goncha Mahaparva the form of a fair, 8 shops have been set up during the festival this year also, where worship material, social religious items as well as Bhog Prasad dear to Lord Shri Jagannath are being made available to the devotees. .

According to the princely tradition since centuries, the offering of Amanya i.e. sattvic pure bhog to Lord Shri Jagannath was distributed to the devotees from 21st June to 27th June by the families of the society residing in more than 108 villages divided into 14 regional committees of Aranyak Brahmin Samaj. being done. The construction of the new chariot has been done through the Temple Committee Jagdalpur. This year, arrangements were made to operate the chariot in a grand manner with electrical decorations.
