Actually, a helpless father reached Dindori keeping the body of his newborn child in a bag after not getting a hearse from the medical college. When the media came to know, then this whole incident which shamed humanity came to light.

According to the information received from the woman’s elder sister, on June 13, Jamni Bai, wife of Sunil Dhurve, a resident of Sahajpuri, gave birth to a newborn in the district hospital. The child was weak and as his treatment was not possible in the District Hospital, Dindori, he was referred to the Jabalpur Medical College. where the newborn died.

After the death of the newborn, the hospital administration did not provide them any means to bring the body of the child back to Dindori. The financially weak tribal couple was not able to arrange private vehicle. Then the helpless relatives hid the dead body of the newborn child in a bag, so that the bus operator and co-passengers would not come to know about it and they could reach Dindori by bus.

A large number of people gathered at the bus stand as soon as the news of the relatives reaching Dindori carrying the child’s body in the bag.
