Bijapur / Jagdalpur. The body of a male Maoist has been recovered during the search after the encounter between the police and the Maoists in Keshamundi forest. Apart from this, a pistol, magazine – two live rounds, Kardex wire, gelatin stick, fuse, pittu, Maoist uniform, literature and other daily use material have been recovered from the spot. DRG, Bastar Fighter and CRPF 222 Battalion had taken joint action against the Maoists.

Please tell that as soon as the rainy season comes, Naxalites become fully active in Bastar. During this, the Naxalites try various maneuvers to harm the force along with changing their hideouts. During the rainy season, when the rivers and drains are in spate, then the Naxalites attack the jawans and get lost in the dense forests.

Bastar IG Sundarraj P said that the police force has to suffer a lot during monsoon, but now the situation is changing. Along with the cold and summer season, now there is talk of launching an operation against the Naxalites in the monsoon as well. In the recently held meeting of the top police officers of the three states, it has been decided to run a joint operation.

The IG told that earlier in the last 3 years, Operation Monsoon was launched against the Naxalites, in which the police also got success. This year, the operation will be conducted jointly by the jawans of 3 states and big Naxalite leaders will be targeted by raiding the hideouts of Naxalites.

In the last 3 years, there were 66 encounters in Operation Monsoon, in which 29 Naxalites were killed, 10 jawans were martyred, 349 Naxalites were arrested. Whereas during the encounter, 76 weapons were seized, 154 IDs recovered, 23 IDs exploded.
