Asia Cup 2023, India vs Pakistan: After the Indian cricket team’s decision not to go to Pakistan, it has finally been decided to organize the Asia Cup in a hybrid model. This time the Asia Cup will be played from 31 August to 17 September. In this, 4 matches will be held in Pakistan while the rest will be held in Sri Lanka. Now former Pakistani captain Intikhab Alam has expressed his displeasure about this hybrid model. Alam also described the coming of politics in the game as disappointing.
Intikhab Alam said about this whole issue that I always feel that politics and cricket should always stay away. I think no problem can be so big that it cannot be solved. It saddens me to see that the leaders of both the countries, instead of solving the problem, are seen increasing it further. If the leaders of our countries stay away from this game then everything will be settled.
The former Pak captain further said in his statement that what is this hybrid model? I do not understand. This is a very strange situation where 4 to 5 matches will be held in Pakistan. While the rest of the matches will be held in Sri Lanka. That is just not true. If Pakistan also maintains its position in the World Cup, then according to this model, it will also have to play at a different place than itself.
Cricket will look incomplete without India-Pakistan
The thrill of the match between India and Pakistan in world cricket has always been seen at a different level. Intikhab Alam also said about this that if the matches between India and Pakistan are not played then cricket will seem incomplete. ICC can get a lot of revenue from the clash of these two teams.
