Have always been listening to Kabir, still listening today

‘Dastan-e-Kabir’ program in Raipur: Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel participated in the ‘Dastan-e-Kabir’ program organized in the auditorium of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Medical College, capital Raipur this evening. Sitting in the audience gallery, Chief Minister Baghel listened to Sant Kabir’s Dastango completely and enjoyed it.

The Chief Minister appreciated the initiative of young artists for re-establishing the tradition of telling and listening through story-telling. It is worth mentioning that Ajay Tipania, Pragya Sharma and Vedant Bhardwaj, along with famous artist Himanshu Bajpai for Dastangoi, gave a musical presentation.

Addressing the program, the Chief Minister said that we all have always been listening to Kabir and are listening even today, but still our mind is not satisfied. It is a matter of pleasure that only young artists have taken a pledge to introduce Kabir to the young generation and they are narrating the stories of Saint Kabir.

Recalling his childhood days, the Chief Minister said that he used to get a great opportunity to listen to stories during these one-and-a-half months till Misai after harvesting the crop from the farm. The people who used to work in the village used to tell very good stories. Stories have their own world in folk life and it has its own world. We grew up learning and understanding from stories. Today’s young generation does not listen to stories.

Chief Minister Baghel said that the things which are not understood after reading the book, can be easily understood through small stories and incidents. Stories have their own juice, even big lessons are easily learned from stories, this rarely happens in other genres.

Chief Minister Baghel praised the efforts of the young artists and reiterated the need to organize such events in the future as well. The Chief Minister honored the artists in the program by presenting them with shawls and quinces. A large number of people including Padma Shri Madan Chauhan, Chairman of Mineral Development Corporation Girish Dewangan, District Central Cooperative Bank President Pankaj Sharma, Senior Doctor Dr. Rakesh Gupta were present on the occasion.
