One person was washed away after a dam burst in Seoni district. At the same time, due to the sudden flood in the Wainganga river, 5 shepherds got trapped in the island at Ghat Khadpadia.
Innocent drowned in the river
Sanjay Vishwakarma, Umaria. An 11-year-old girl died while taking bath in Son river with her mother in Bachha Tola near Bhamraha village under Manpur police station in the district. The innocent had gone to graze goats with her mother, while grazing goats, mother and daughter had reached the river to take a bath. Meanwhile, her foot slipped in the ghat and she was swept away by the strong current of the river.
The incident was informed to the 24-hour disaster management team, after which the team reached the spot. After hard work, the dead body of the girl child was found at Hanchaura Ghat, 10 to 11 km away. At present, the Manpur police station has taken the body into custody and sent it to the Manpur Community Health Center for postmortem. The police is probing the matter by establishing a case. On the other hand, the family members of the girl child are in bad condition by crying.
