According to this model, the first 4 matches of the Asia Cup will be played in Pakistan and the remaining 9 matches in Sri Lanka.
India-Pakistan match can happen thrice
The teams of India and Pakistan are in the same group in the Asia Cup and the first match between the two teams can be played on 2 September. A total of 6 teams will participate in the Asia Cup and then there will be matches between the top four. In such a situation, after the league stage, there can be a clash between India and Pakistan in the top-4 as well. Apart from this, the third encounter can be seen in that situation when both the teams enter the finals.
Asia Cup schedule has not been announced yet
Significantly, the schedule of 2023 Asia Cup has not been announced yet. However, two things have been decided, first that this time the Asia Cup will be played in hybrid model, in which four matches will be played in Pakistan and 9 matches will be played in Sri Lanka. On the other hand, the tournament will be held from 31 August to 19 September.
Official announcement can be made on July 19
The Asia Cup is to be organized this time from 31 August to 17 September. In which now its official schedule can be announced by 19 September. Pakistan’s new chief Zaka Ashraf had expressed some displeasure about this hybrid model, but now he has accepted the decision of his previous committee.
