Is Virender Sehwag going to become the chief selector of the Indian team? BCCI can take a big decision

India Cricket Team Selection Panel: The Indian team has yet to participate in 2 big tournaments this year. One is the Asia Cup and the other is the ICC ODI World Cup. In both these tournaments, everyone’s eyes will be on the team selection. After the sudden resignation of Chetan Sharma from the post of head coach, there is a vacancy in the selection committee. At present, Shiv Sunder Das is handling the responsibility of the chief selector of the Indian team. Meanwhile, the name of former Indian player Virender Sehwag is repeatedly coming up regarding the 1 vacant post. However, the salary paid to the selectors is said to be a big problem.

At one time the responsibility of the chief selector of the Indian team was held by Dilip Vengsarkar and K.K. Legendary players like Srikanth were seen playing. But now the big players are clearly shying away from fulfilling this responsibility. Everyone believes behind this that the salary received as a selector is very less. At this time one name from North Zone is to be included in the selection committee. Virender Sehwag’s name is coming to the fore regarding this.

A BCCI official told PTI in his statement that during the tenure of the Committee of Administrators, Sehwag was asked to apply for the post of head coach, which later became Anil Kumble. Now don’t think he will apply by himself. Apart from this, a big player like him will also have to be paid according to his stature.

Yuvraj, Gambhir and Harbhajan cannot apply for this reason

Any one name from North Zone is to be included in the selection committee. For this, apart from Virender Sehwag, big names are seen, Gautam Gambhir, Yuvraj Singh and Harbhajan Singh are also included in it. But all these three players are not yet eligible for this post. Actually players can apply for this post only after 5 years of retirement.

At present, if we look at the salary received by the members of the selection committee of the Indian team, then the Chief Selector gets Rs 1 crore annually. On the other hand, all the other members of the selection committee are given Rs 90 lakh as annual salary by the BCCI.
