MP: 240 gold coins found in excavation, villagers accuse policemen of looting, case registered, SP said this

Sunil Joshi, Alirajpur. Villagers of Bejda village have accused four policemen posted at Sondwa police station in Alirajpur district of Madhya Pradesh of taking away gold coins by threatening them. Villagers say that about 6 months ago, while working as laborers in Gujarat, they found 240 gold coins, which were buried in the ground by women in their homes. But the policemen snatched them away after beating and threatening them. The incident is being told of 19 July. On the complaint of the villagers, a case has been registered against 4 other people including 1 policeman. SDOP Shraddha Sonkar has started investigating the case.

On the other hand, Alirajpur SP Hansraj Singh said that there has been a complaint from the villagers that gold coins have been taken away from their homes by 4 police personnel after digging in the ground. A case has been registered against three other people including one named in the case. The statements of the villagers are being recorded. If the policemen are found guilty in the investigation, action will be taken.
