MP Election 2023: BJP Leader Kedarnath Shukla to Contest Against Riti Pathak!

In the assembly constituency of Sidhi, Pandit Kedarnath Shukla, the incumbent MLA, is likely to announce his candidacy as an independent candidate today. He has posted a video on social media addressing all his supporters and well-wishers in the districts of Sidhi, Churhat, Dhauhani, and Sihawal, inviting them to join him on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti on October 2nd.

Pandit Kedarnath Shukla stated that he will be contesting from the Sidhi assembly constituency and that he had previously mentioned that he would share his decision with the public after consulting with his supporters. Hence, October 2nd, which is Gandhi Jayanti, has been chosen for the announcement. He plans to start the day by leaving his residence with his supporters at 10 AM and offer tributes at the Mahatma Gandhi statue in Gandhi Chowk. After that, he will proceed to pay homage at the statue of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar.

Pandit Kedarnath Shukla had earlier contested as an independent candidate from the Gopad-Banas assembly constituency when he did not receive a ticket from the BJP. He faced defeat but secured the second position by pushing the BJP candidate to the third position.

His decision to contest as an independent candidate from Sidhi assembly constituency is expected to change the political dynamics in all four assembly constituencies of Sidhi district. Political analysts believe that he enjoys substantial support in the region due to his previous association with the BJP, which could impact the outcome in all the constituencies. His move to run as an independent candidate is likely to have an impact beyond Sidhi district as well.
