MP Election 2023: In the 2023 Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections, citizens will be able to report violations of the Model Code of Conduct through the C-Vigil mobile app. As soon as information is received, the Election Commission will take immediate action. To expedite the prompt and effective resolution of election-related complaints in the Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections 2023, the Election Commission of India has developed the C-Vigil mobile app.
Once the Model Code of Conduct is in effect, this app will become active. Complaints will be resolved within 100 minutes. Through this app, any citizen can capture and send photos or videos of incidents related to the violation of the Model Code of Conduct in the election. Upon receiving a complaint, a swift investigation will be conducted, followed by immediate action.
To use the C-Vigil app, citizens must first download it from the Play Store for Android mobiles or the App Store for Apple mobiles. Citizens can upload photos from within 20 meters of the incident location. Within five minutes of the incident, citizens are required to upload the photo to the C-Vigil app.
Here’s how the app works:
- Complaints made by the complainant will first go to the District Complaint Control Room (DCCR).
- Subsequently, after the initial investigation by the DCCR, if the complaint is found to be genuine, it will be sent to the Flying Squad Team (FST).
- The investigation team will conduct a thorough examination, and based on their findings, a report with necessary directions will be sent to the Returning Officer, FST, and District Complaint Control Room.
In the 2018 Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections, a total of 3,990 complaints were received and promptly resolved through the C-Vigil app. Similarly, during the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, a total of 16,472 complaints were received and adequately resolved.
