MP Election 2023: Jabalpur is witnessing a new dawn, and I can see the enthusiasm it holds. There’s a sense of vigor, an aura of excitement, and a vibrant spirit resonating throughout the city. This energy signifies the aspirations of the people of Mahakoushal, and it was beautifully encapsulated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his address at Gwarighat Ground on the occasion of the 500th birth anniversary of Rani Durgavati.
In his speech, Prime Minister Modi emphasized that Madhya Pradesh stands at a crucial juncture in its development journey, where any hindrance, even a slight delay in progress, can set us back by 20-25 years. He urged the people to keep the momentum of development going, stressing the need for hard work and sound decision-making.
“Madhya Pradesh has witnessed remarkable progress over the last 25 years, especially among the younger generation. Now, it’s their responsibility to inherit a developed and prosperous Madhya Pradesh,” Prime Minister Modi remarked. He highlighted the significant improvements in cleanliness and cleanliness-related rankings that Madhya Pradesh has achieved, urging everyone to maintain this commitment to cleanliness and hygiene.
The Prime Minister went on to say that the BJP government is dedicated to the welfare of the poor. He reassured that under his leadership, Madhya Pradesh would continue to lead in development. He expressed his unwavering commitment to not allow the exploitation of the poor or the amassing of wealth by politicians at the expense of the common man.
PM Modi also took a dig at the opposition, particularly the Congress, by saying, “Those who are 20-22 years old today may not even remember the state of affairs before I came to power. Back then, headlines were dominated by scams worth billions of rupees, and the money meant for the poor was going into the pockets of Congress leaders. We initiated campaigns to clean up the corrupt systems created by the Congress. We removed 11 crore fake beneficiaries from government records, effectively curbing corruption.”
Shivraj’s Take on the Progress
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan also addressed the gathering, recognizing the significance of Rani Durgavati’s 500th birth anniversary. He expressed his delight at the foundation-laying ceremony of Rani Durgavati Smarak, which includes a statue of the iconic queen.
“Rani Durgavati deserves this honor,” Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan stated, reflecting on her long-overdue recognition. He praised the BJP government for taking this initiative and for declaring the birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda as Tribal Pride Day.
Chouhan emphasized the importance of the PESA (Panchayats (Extension to Scheduled Areas) Act) in the state’s development. He highlighted how PESA has empowered the tribal communities by giving them rights over land and forest resources. This act has also played a significant role in resolving disputes at the grassroots level.
Taking a swipe at the previous Congress government, Chouhan said, “The Congress government failed to implement the PESA Act. It is our privilege to enable this act, which is granting land rights and resources to the tribal society. Today, the money under PESA is being utilized for the welfare of the tribals.”
Inauguration and Unveiling
Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Rani Durgavati Smarak and unveiled postage stamps and coins commemorating the occasion. During the event, PM Modi also performed the foundation-laying ceremony for development projects worth ₹12,600 crores from various sectors.
The Grand Procession
Following the roadshow, Prime Minister Modi and Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan proceeded to visit the Rani Durgavati Smarak and Museum. PM Modi offered flowers at the statue of Rani Durgavati as a mark of respect. The event was attended by thousands of enthusiastic supporters and residents of Jabalpur.
In conclusion, Jabalpur is embracing a new era of development and recognition, and the 500th birth anniversary of Rani Durgavati serves as a fitting tribute to her legacy. The BJP government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, continues to work tirelessly to bring prosperity and progress to Madhya Pradesh.
