MS Dhoni And Suresh Raina: Chennai Super Kings (CSK) now share the first place with Mumbai Indians (MI) in terms of winning the most titles in Indian Premier League (IPL) history. Chennai won the title for the 5th time with the 16th season of IPL being named after it. Apart from Mahendra Singh Dhoni, the role of Suresh Raina has also been very important in making CSK a successful team in IPL. Now Raina has made a big disclosure about the 2021 IPL season.
Suresh Raina had said goodbye to international cricket in the year 2020. At the same time, after the IPL season played in UAE in the year 2021, he did not play any match in this T20 league. Due to the Corona epidemic, IPL 2021 was organized in UAE. Raina got a chance to play only 2 matches in this entire season. In his place, the team had decided to give Robin Uthappa a chance in the playing 11.
Now Suresh Raina himself has made a big disclosure regarding this plan to give Robin Uthappa a chance. Raina told in his interview to Geo Cinema that Dhoni had asked him for suggestions regarding the inclusion of Uthappa in the team.
Uthappa fully deserved that opportunity
Raina told in his interview that Dhoni had consulted me to include Uthappa in the team. I asked him to feed Uthappa as he had worked very hard for that season. Uthappa got a chance to play that season 4 match in which he scored a total of 115 runs. CSK defeated Kolkata Knight Riders by 27 runs in the final match of IPL 2021 season.
