Murder of Jain monk in Karnataka: Demonstration in MP in support of Bharat Bandh, BJP-Congress leaders join in protest, society demands hanging of accused

In protest against the abduction and brutal murder of Jain monk Acharya Kamkumar Nandi in Karnataka, the Jain society’s Bharat Bandh got support in Madhya Pradesh as well. In various districts of the state, the Jain society took out rallies to protest against the incident and handed over memorandum demanding capital punishment to the accused.

Karn Mishra, Gwalior. In the city too, the Jain community staged a protest at the Inderganj intersection to protest against the brutal murder of a Jain monk. While Energy Minister Pradyuman Singh Tomar from the BJP side participated in this sit-in demonstration, the Leader of the Opposition Dr. Govind Singh, former Chief Minister Digvijay Singh from the Congress side. Along with Energy Minister Pradyuman Singh Tomar, Digvijay Singh has also raised the demand for capital punishment for the accused. Along with the country, in Gwalior as well, the Jain society today participated in the protest by closing all its business establishments. Jain society has demanded formation of Jain commission at the national level, protection of Jain religious pilgrimage areas, security to Jain saints, sadhus and sadhvis during Bihar on foot and strict punishment to the culprits of murder.

Sakal Jain Samaj Amarwada has taken out a rally against the murder of Acharya in Karnataka and submitted a memorandum to Tehsildar Chhavi Pant in the name of His Excellency the President. The patron of the society, the chairman and the chairman of the merchant board told that all the Hindu organizations of the city, along with the social institutions and citizens, public representatives have extended their cooperation in the silent rally. Apart from the murder, lodged a protest on the road for various demands including the removal of illegal encroachment on Jain pilgrimage areas. The entire Jain and non-violent community condemned the murder of the sage. Proposing condemnation of the incident, demanded strictest punishment to the killers by taking the matter on a fast track. The society said that the Union Home Minister should issue an immediate statement if the Karnataka government has not taken any action so far.
