Raipur. Nine non-governmental and voluntary organizations, nine public sector undertakings and industrial companies, four public representatives, 11 private sector hospitals and doctors, four officials of the health department are taking up the responsibility of providing nutritious food to TB patients as Ni-Kshaya Mitra. And 14 persons were honored. Health Minister TS Singhdev was the chief guest in the program organized by the Health and Family Welfare Department.
During this, Health Minister TS Singhdev said that public and community participation is necessary for the eradication of TB. The Health Department is getting good cooperation in this in the form of Ni-Kshaya Mitras. Timely identification and treatment of TB patients is essential. Due to lack of timely treatment of its victims, death is possible in 50 percent of the cases. Along with adding more and more people to the Health Department as Ni-Kshaya Mitra, he also expressed his desire to join the TB eradication program as Ni-Kshaya Mitra.
Expressing gratitude to the Ni-Kshaya Mitras, the Health Minister said that with their association, the campaign to eliminate TB from the state will accelerate. He hoped that people’s cooperation will continue to be received in this campaign, both individually and institutionally.
Health Department Secretary Siddharth Komal Pardeshi said that the department is running a special campaign since 2019 to eradicate TB. A target has been set to make the state TB-free by the year 2025. There were many misconceptions about this disease in the past, which have now been dispelled to a great extent. Its complete treatment is possible with medicine. Health Services Director Jayaprakash Maurya said that there are adequate facilities for TB investigation and treatment in the state. To be completely cured of TB, it is necessary for patients to take the full dose of its medicine.
Epidemic control director Dr. Subhash Mishra said in the program that proper nutrition of patients is very important to defeat TB. Nutritious diet keeps the immunity of the body strong. In this, good co-operation is being received from non-decaying friends. Community-based programs and public participation have accelerated the TB eradication program in the state. State Tuberculosis Officer Dr. Dharmendra Gahwai informed about the steps being taken to eradicate TB from the state in the programme.
