On Tehsildar and Sub Engineer

Raipur. The Chhattisgarh State Information Commission has imposed a fine of Rs 25,000 each on two public information officers for negligence in giving information. These officers include a then Tehsildar and a then Deputy Engineer.

State Information Commissioner Manoj Trivedi has imposed this penalty on the concerned public information officers for negligence in disposing of the application received under the Right to Information Act and not implementing it within the time limit.

During the hearing of a case, it was found that the then Public Information Officer of Raipur Tehsil was given an application in March 2019 by the applicant for inspection of documents related to demarcation etc.

In this regard, a notice was issued by the Commission to the then Public Information Officer to reply, to which no reply was given by him. For this reason, a fine of Rs 25 thousand has been imposed on the then Public Information Officer and Tehsildar Raipur and present Regional Transport Officer Bilaspur Amit Beck.

In another case, action has been taken by the then Public Information Officer of Municipality Ratanpur for not disposing of the original application within the time limit and not submitting the reply to the commission on the subject of the applicant seeking information about the documents related to the files related to transfer.

A fine of Rs 25,000 has been imposed on Devendra Pahadi, the then Public Information Officer and Deputy Engineer and currently posted in Municipal Council, Bade Bacheli, District Dantewada. The controlling officers of the concerned Public Information Officers have been directed to deposit the amount of fine in the government fund.
