MS Dhoni Run Out World Cup 2019: Former Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni played his last international match in the semi-finals of the World Cup 2019. This was the same match in which Dhoni was run out and crores of Indian fans were heartbroken by his run out. Team India needed 25 runs in 10 balls to win the semi-finals and everyone expected from Dhoni at the crease.

But Dhoni’s run out dashed the hopes of crores of fans. The third ball of the 49th over hit Dhoni’s thumb and went towards the leg side. Seeing the ball going away, Dhoni completed the first run and then he ran for the second run as well. The ball went to Martin Guptill fielding on the leg side and he hit the straight throw stump.

Dhoni had just missed reaching inside the crease by some distance. After Dhoni’s run out, the hopes of all the Indian fans were shattered. After the run out, Dhoni returned to the pavilion after scoring 50 runs in 72 balls with the help of 1 four and 1 six. Team India had lost the 8th wicket in the form of Dhoni. Chasing 240 runs, Team India lost the match by 18 runs.

This match proved to be the last match of Dhoni’s international career. After this, on August 15, 2020, he announced his retirement from international cricket. Now he is only seen playing on behalf of Chennai Super Kings in IPL.
