Pakistan Cricket Team Receives Indian Visas for Upcoming World Cup 2023

World Cup 2023: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has confirmed that the Pakistan cricket team has been granted Indian visas for the upcoming One-Day International (ODI) World Cup. This development comes after the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) expressed serious concerns about visa delays to the ICC. The Pakistan team is scheduled to depart for India on the morning of Wednesday, September 27, for the tournament.

Visas were issued to the team well within the 48-hour timeframe before their scheduled travel, providing some relief to the PCB. The Pakistan team is set to play its first practice match against New Zealand in Hyderabad on September 29 as part of their World Cup preparations.

An ICC spokesperson confirmed the issuance of visas for the Pakistan cricket team. The delay in visa approval had raised concerns about the team’s preparation being adversely affected, as highlighted in a letter from the PCB to ICC Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Geoff Allardice.

PCB spokesperson Umar Farooq had previously stated that the ICC had not paid adequate attention to their concerns regarding visa delays for players, team officials, fans, and journalists traveling to India for the World Cup.

It is disappointing that the Pakistan team had to go through uncertainty ahead of a major tournament. However, with the visas now secured, they can focus on their preparations for the World Cup, hoping to perform well in the competition.
