In 1993, Veer Singh Bhuria had captured this assembly seat. After that Nirmala Bhuria, daughter of Veer Singh Bhuria, retained her hold on the assembly seat for 4 times. Nirmala Bhuria had won in 1993 by taking a ticket from Congress, but Nirmala Bhuria changed the party in 1993 and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party. Won in 1993 from Bharatiya Janata Party.
