Preparations for MP elections intensified: Chief Electoral Officer holds meeting with political parties, appeals for cooperation in getting names of youths added

Amritanshi Joshi, Bhopal. The Election Commission has stepped up the preparations for the Madhya Pradesh Assembly Elections (MP Vidhan Sabha Election 2023). The Chief Electoral Officer held a meeting with recognized national political parties on Thursday. In which representatives of BJP, Congress, AAP and BSP participated. Reviewed with the Collector and District Election Officers. At the same time, an appeal has been made for the cooperation of the political parties to add the names of the youth.

In this meeting, information about the activities of the second special summary review-2023 was given. On August 2, the draft voter list will be published at all 64 thousand 100 polling stations in the state and from August 2 to August 31, all BLOs will be present at their respective polling stations and apply for addition, deletion, amendment of names in the voter list. Will take Also, special camps will be organized on Saturdays and Sundays in the month of August and BLOs will go door-to-door. After this, the final publication of the voter list will take place on October 4.

In the meeting, representatives of national political parties received first level checking of EVMs, VVPATs in all 52 districts, physical verification of polling stations, forms for addition, deletion and modification of names, Deputy District Election Officers, Returning Officers of all 230 assembly constituencies, Information was given about the training of Assistant Returning Officers and State Level Master Trainers. During this, representatives of political parties also gave their suggestions.

Information given about FLC running in the districts

Chief Electoral Officer Rajan gave information about FLC work of EVMs, VVPATs going on in the districts through presentation. He said that the first level checking of EVMs, VVPATs is being done by Bharat Electronics Limited Bangalore (BELL), about which political parties have also been informed. So far 50 percent machines have been tested and FLC work has been completed in 8 districts.

Political parties should cooperate in adding the names of youth

Anupam Rajan urged the representatives of political parties to cooperate in adding the names of the youth who have completed 18 years of age to the voter list on October 1, 2023 and to appoint booth level agents at all 64 thousand 100 polling stations. He said that the youth who are completing 18 years of age on October 1, 2023 can apply in advance to get their names included in the voter list.

Additional Chief Electoral Officer Rajesh Kumar Kaul, Joint Chief Electoral Officer Rakesh Singh, Basant Kurre, Bhagwandas Sabnani from Bharatiya Janata Party and S.S.
