Rahul Gandhi met Manipur Governor Anusuiya Uike, expressed concern over the law and order situation in the state, said – violence should stop now

Manipur. Former Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) and Congress Party member Rahul Gandhi called on Manipur Governor Anusuiya Uikey at Raj Bhavan Imphal today. He informed the Governor about his recent visit to the relief camps in Churachandpur, Imphal East and Bishnupur districts and the difficulties faced by the victims living in the relief camps after the ethnic clashes on 3rd May.

Expressing concern about the lack of essential medicines for various serious diseases, including baby food for the children in the relief camps, he requested that it would be appropriate if the said materials are made available. Apart from this, Rahul Gandhi also expressed concern over the law and order situation in the state and said that violence should stop now. We have come to you with this request.

He further said that his party will extend full cooperation to establish peace, law and order in the state, so that status quo is maintained as per the ancient history of co-existence. The governor informed Rahul Gandhi about the measures being taken by both the central and state governments to restore harmony, peace and order and to bring the situation under control through amicable dialogue. KC Venugopal and Ajay Kumar were also present during this meeting.
