Ramanand Sagar Ramayan Arun Govil Was Rejected For Lord Ram Role In Show

Talking to ANI, Arun said, ‘From 1977 I started acting with Rajshree Pictures and Sagar Saheb. I also worked in Anand Sagar’s Directorial Badal. I also did Vikram and Betal. Only then I came to know that Sagar Saheb is making Ramayana. So I approached him. I wanted to play the role of Lord Ram. At that time I was doing a lot of commercial films. My friends and family told me not to do Ramayana. This is not good for you.

Arun Govil was rejected in the audition

Arun further said, ‘Ramanand Sagar took my audition and he rejected me in the audition. His sons Prem Sagar, Moti Sagar and Anand Sagar asked me to play Bharat and Laxman. But I said, I have to play the role of Lord Ram and if I am not fit for it then it is fine. Later, they select someone else for this. But a few days later, the makers called me and called me for the role of Lord Ram. And finally I got a chance to play this historical role.

Let us tell you that in Ramayana, where Arun Govil played the role of Lord Ram, actress Deepika Chikhaliya played the role of mother Sita and Sunil Lahiri played the role of Laxman.
