India vs West Indies, Ravichandran Ashwin Test Records: From July 12, the Indian team will play the first match of the 2-match Test series against the West Indies. Team India’s veteran off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has stood very close to making a big record in this Test series. Ashwin currently occupies the first position in the ICC Test bowler rankings. If he manages to take 3 wickets in the first Test against the West Indies, he will complete his 700 wickets in international cricket.
Ashwin, who was out of the World Test Championship (WTC) final, is expected to get a chance in this Test series. While Ashwin will complete his 700 international wickets with taking 3 wickets, he also has more than 4000 international runs in his name. With this, Ashwin will become the first Indian player in international cricket to score 700 wickets and 4000 runs.
Till now Anil Kumble and Harbhajan Singh have taken more than 700 wickets for India.
Former captain Anil Kumble’s name is first in terms of taking the most wickets in international cricket for Team India. Kumble took a total of 956 international wickets in his career. On the other hand, there is former off-spinner Harbhajan Singh, who has 711 international wickets in his name. Ashwin is at number three in the list with 697 wickets.
Ashwin has so far taken 474 wickets in 92 Tests for the Indian team at an average of 23.93. During this, he has done the feat of taking 5 wickets in an innings 32 times and 10 wickets in a match 7 times. Ashwin has taken 151 wickets in ODIs while 72 wickets in T20 Internationals.
