Abhishek Mishra, Dhamtari. The Sondhur river is in spate due to overnight rains on Friday in the city block of Dhamtari. Due to rise in the water level of the river, the contact of 6 villages with the block headquarters has been lost.
The situation is that those who have to go for important work, have to cross the river by wading in waist-deep water. People are forced to cross the river taking the risk of putting their children and belongings on their heads and shoulders. Please tell that this area comes under the Tiger Reserve, due to which the road and bridge could not be constructed here.
This is the only way for the people of Risgaon, Gadulbahara, Karahi, Joratarai, Karka and Amabahara villages across the Sondhur river to go to the city. The people of these 6 villages have to face a lot of problems every monsoon.
