The women of self-help groups working in Gothan have proved this to be true.
Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel’s Godhan Nyaya Yojana has done the work of empowering rural women. Due to which women are earning lakhs of rupees by selling vermi compost and earthworms. At the same time, thousands of rupees are being earned from the sale of vegetables, poultry and spices in the community garden. This scheme is working to make economically weak farmers, cattle herders, laborers, daily wage working women living in remote areas of rural areas financially strong.

Women who earlier used to work as daily wage workers in the village, got organized inspired by the Godhan Nyaya Yojana and are supporting their families financially by joining various livelihood oriented activities in Gauthan. All the members of Indira Mahila Self-Help Group of village Masul of Chhuria development block of Rajnandgaon district have not only produced vermicompost by working hard in Gauthan. Rather it is associated with various livelihood oriented activities.

Group president Devkunwar Yadav told that 11 women of Indira Mahila Self-Help Group belong to poor and needy families. Under the guidance of officers of Panchayat and Rural Development Department and Agriculture Department, got training in making vermicompost and got information about other innovative activities. He told that a dividend amount of Rs 2 lakh 75 thousand was received from the sale of vermi compost. On the other hand, there was a profit of Rs 93 thousand 750 from the sale of earthworms. He told that spices are being prepared by buying a spice grinding machine from that amount and selling it locally in the village itself, which earns an annual income of Rs 30 to 40 thousand.

The women of the group have earned 50 to 60 thousand rupees from poultry farming. The annual income of about 84 thousand rupees has been earned by selling greens and vegetables from the community garden. Devkunwar Yadav said that Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has done the work of making thousands of women capable of maintaining their families and empowering rural women through Godhan Nyaya Yojana.
