Special: Now women are not limited to saving only, dreams got a new dimension, ‘women power’ is getting rich with economic power

It is the intention of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel that money reaches the pocket of every poor. Every hand should get work. Keeping this objective in mind, the Gothans of the village are being developed as Rural Industrial Parks to provide employment and means of income to the rural poor families. Where various livelihood oriented activities are being conducted. Under the scheme, in the first phase, two Gothans have been selected in each development block.

In Rural Livelihood Park, basic facilities, basic infrastructure such as internal road, electricity, water and drain system, workshed, storage, training, marketing support, technical guidance etc. are being provided by the government to the villagers for livelihood promotion. Under the scheme, by identifying interested local youths, self-help groups, entrepreneurs are being provided machinery and loan from banks on the basis of business plan, grant, subsidy or loan at zero interest rate as per eligibility under various schemes. Due to which the dreams of young rural entrepreneurs working in rural industrial centers established in Gothans are getting a new dimension.

Women are no longer limited to saving

In Birkoni Gauthan of Mahasamund district, women self-help group is becoming self-sufficient by increasing their income by joining the work of making Dona Patal. There are 10 women in the Nari Shakti self-help women’s group. The women of the first group were limited only to saving money. But recently, under the Mahatma Gandhi Rural Industrial Park (RIPA) in Birkoni Gauthan, women started the work of making two leaves. Block Project Manager (BPM) of the group Rekha Rani Nagpure said that earlier this work was done by the village organization. Help was received from the Rural Livelihood Mission, whereas now the Dona Pattal machine installed under RIPA has brought a lot of convenience.

Dona-Pattal demand in surrounding areas

Recently Dona Pattal machine has been installed in Ripa. Work has been started after training from the administration. Right now, a profit of Rs 15,000 has been made by selling more than 25,000 dona-pattals in marriages to be held in the village and surrounding areas. Dona Pattal prepared by the group is being demanded in the surrounding villages and cities. The women of the group said that their Dona Patal work is going on very well. The group is benefiting a lot from this.
