Submerged Ujjain: Water entered Mahakal temple premises, reached Nandihal during Shayan Aarti, holiday declared in all schools due to rain

Ajay Neema, Ujjain. Monsoon is continuing in many districts of Madhya Pradesh. It rained heavily in Ujjain late last night with thunder and lightning. The main road including many major intersections of the city has been flooded. Water also entered the premises of the Mahakal temple during the night. Reached Nandihal during Shayan Aarti. At the same time, the Collector has declared a holiday in all the schools today, 22nd July.

Due to incessant rains in Ujjain district and surrounding areas, the water level of Gambhir Dam along with Shipra river has increased. A gate of Gambhir Dam was opened at night. At the same time, due to heavy rains, during the Shayan Aarti in the Mahakal temple at around 10:30 pm, the water reached Nandihal through the premises and the ramp.

After sleeping, all the devotees were taken out and the temple staff started the work of draining the water. The whole city has been submerged due to the continuous rain. People coming out of the way are facing problems. The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for heavy rain even today. At the same time, the Collector has declared a holiday in all the schools on Saturday.
