According to media reports, in the year 2014, Digvijay had alleged that Gadkari had relations with businessman Ajay Sancheti and said that Gadkari had benefitted Sancheti because of those relations. Gadkari had filed a criminal defamation case against Digvijay, later Digvijay had apologised.
