Bhilai. Vaishali Nagar MLA Vidyartan Bhasin passed away today. MLA Bhasin was 76 years old. He was admitted for 15 days at Ramakrishna Care Hospital in Raipur. Where he was kept in ventilator. He was also admitted to the hospital two months ago due to the problem of urinary infection. He breathed his last at 2.44 am on Thursday midnight. His last rites will be performed today at 1 pm at Ramnagar Muktidham in Bhilai. There is a wave of mourning in the city and the BJP organization due to his demise.
Vidyartan Bhasin was born on 27 December 1947. He has three daughters. MLA Vidyartan Bhasin was a contractor and transporter in his early days. After that he became the General Secretary of BJP. His father Chunnilal Bhasin was associated with the Sangh. From 2005 to 2009, Bhasin was the mayor of Bhilai Municipal Corporation. MLA Bhasin was a two-time MLA from Vaishali Nagar Assembly. In the years 2013 and 2018, Vidyartan Bhasin became the BJP MLA from Vaishali Nagar. After this, there was no mayor of BJP in Bhilai Corporation.
In the year 2015, Vidyartan Bhasin was once again made the mayor’s candidate. But he had to face defeat from Congress candidate Devendra Yadav. But in the year 2018, even after the Congress wave across the state, MLA Bhasin in Durg division retained Vaishali Nagar assembly seat and won by 18080 votes from Congress candidate Badruddin Qureshi. And in 2013 also, he defeated his rival Bhajan Singh Nirankari by 25,000 votes.
