During his 76th century of international career (including Test, ODI and T20), he made a strong comeback for India by sharing a 159-run partnership for the fifth wicket with Ravindra Jadeja (61). Kohli was run out while Jadeja was caught by Joshua da Silva behind the wicket off Kemar Roach.

After lunch, Ravichandran Ashwin (56) scored a half-century and batted brilliantly with the lower-order batsmen to take the team’s score to 438 runs. He was the last batsman to be dismissed. As soon as he was out, the umpire announced the tea break. He shared 33 runs for the seventh wicket with Ishan Kishan (25) and 23 runs for the eighth wicket with Jaydev Unadkat (07) to take the team past 400 runs.
