The series of two Test matches between India and West Indies is going to start from 12th July. The debut of young batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal in the Test series is being considered almost certain. Yashasvi Jaiswal has continued his brilliant IPL form on the West Indies tour as well. Jaiswal played a brilliant inning of 54 runs in the practice match played in the West Indies.
Yashaswi Jaiswal has been included in Team India in place of Cheteshwar Pujara. Actually, after the defeat against Australia in the WTC final, the BCCI has started making the team of the future. Apart from Jaiswal, Rituraj Gaikwad has also been sent to the West Indies. But Jaiswal is currently ahead of Rituraj Gaikwad in the debut race.
If Yashasvi Jaiswal gets a chance to debut, then he will be seen handling the opening with captain Rohit Sharma. With this, Shubman Gill will be shifted to number three. This step will be taken because now there is not much career left for the rest of the senior middle order players. In such a situation only Shubman Gill will have to handle the middle order. However, for the time being, Virat will be seen playing at number four and Ajinkya Rahane at number five.
Ishaan Kishan will also get a chance
Another important change will be seen in the Test series against the West Indies. In this series, Ishaan Kishan can be made a part of the playing eleven as a wicket-keeper batsman. Sitting outside of KS Bharat is believed to be almost certain. The biggest reason for this is Bharat’s failure with the bat. In the five Test matches played so far, Bharat has not been able to score a single half-century. Apart from this, Kishan’s batting style is similar to that of Pant, which can prove to be the X factor for Team India.
