Yatra vs Yatra in MP: In response to BJP’s Sant Ravidas Yatra, Congress will also take out Yatra in SC dominated areas

Shabbir Ahmed, Bhopal. Madhya Pradesh has elections later this year. Before this, both the BJP and Congress parties are engaged in helping voters of every category. After taking out the Rani Durgavati Gaurav Yatra to reach out to the tribal voters, now the BJP has sent the chariots of Sant Ravidas Samarsata Yatra from Bhopal on Sunday, while in response, the Congress is also going to take out yatras in Scheduled Caste dominated areas. On July 27, there is a meeting of Kamal Nath with the leaders of the Scheduled Caste Department regarding the yatra.

It is being told that the yatra will start after the program of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge at Sagar on August 13. Through the yatra, the Congress will raise the issue of oppression, unemployment and price rise on the Scheduled Castes. Let us inform that in Madhya Pradesh there are about 17 percent SC voters, while 35 seats are reserved for it.

Out of about eight crore population of the state, 15.6 percent of the population belongs to the Scheduled Caste category. Out of 230 seats in the state, 35 seats are reserved for the Scheduled Castes. Till 2003 and 2013, the BJP remained in power with the support of the Scheduled Castes, but in 2018, the BJP lost power due to the fragmentation of this section. This year the Congress won 18 seats and the BJP 17. Whereas in 2013 BJP had 28 seats.
